The end of Puri Puri Princess

So apparently Puri Puri Princess will be coming to an end, on the 30th of March.
Just as mentioned by Momoko-hime during the ending, with the 30th March broadcast, Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess will be broadcast for the last time. Please, make sure to send letters explaining "what sort of programme was this to you."  By all means, thank you for everything.
I actually am considering writing in, just to put forward one last thing while I still have the chance, whether or not it'll be read.
Also mentioned on Momo's blog.

They also gave a comparison to KRC:

Berryz Kobo Kiritsu! Rei! Chakuseki spanned 260 episodes over 5 years, Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess is also spanning a total of 5 years, broadcast for 259 times. If you were to include the pause during the earthquake disaster, it would amount to 260 times.
To Momoko-hime who's been continuing to talk alone, please send your messages
We'll be waiting, for your letters.

Well, I guess there's still Trattoria Buono!

By the way, today's episode was quite interesting. With Maasa and Captain as guests, they reflected on their 10 years as Berryz Kobo. Remember, the anniversary is tomorrow!

Momo talks about her graduation thesis

Momo talks about her graduation thesis on her radio show, Momoko no Puri Puri Princess. A rough summary:
First, she talks about her life as a student coming to an end in March.
Title: The world of the heart of a disabled person
Then she comments on her thesis - she's completed it, and handed it in. With 20 000 characters, it went over 50 pages and looked like a contract.
Her thesis was on disabled people, particularly the status of those in a persistent vegetative state - people who have some form of awareness but can no longer move.
She interviewed their families, who were at times in despair, or pointing out things like "Sensei, their leg moved."
She switched out of the heavy topic with a mention that typing it up was extremely difficult. {She has mentioned before that she's the kind that types using a single finger, after all.}
She closes by talking about the 2nd year primary school students whom she had taught during her practical training, now about to enter their 4th year, only 2 years left until their graduation. After exclaiming about them having grown up, she mentions that she'd like to go for their graduation.

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess (2013/11/10 10:00 pm)

For "Moshi Moshi, Momochi", we contacted a children's nurse-san
Who was about the same age as Mamachi.
It was a calm talk, about job performance and how she became a fan.
This corner is turning into one about how things came to be,
And such rich talks are one of its charms.

For "Uwasa no Momochi",
The topic was about
Yanagida Rikao-san {archaeologist}, officially answering a question about Momoko-hime on Twitter.
The Otomomochi who reported it was the person who asked the question,
And we also received notice from an Otomomochi who saw the reply,
Both of them from the Hiroshima prefecture of the Idol Kingdom. These kind of things, they really do happen!

According to his calculations, Momoko-hime's weight would be "5.8 kg". Remember that!

5.8 kilos. There can't be a mistake with that.

Translator's comments: 5.8 kilos? That's too difficult to remember. I'll stick with the classic "Equal to the weight of 29 peaches!!" (^^)

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess (2013/11/03 10:00 pm)

Today we welcomed Ayami Chercy Snow-san and Rayna S Mauser-san from Afilia Saga.

Last year we welcomed Louise-san and Yukafin-san from Afilia Saga and got to broadcast an enjoyable talk, but as usual, this time was exciting too.

"When Afilia-san comes, ask about their age" has become a promise.

We aired a "magical showdown" that you definitely wouldn't be aired on television.
To those listening at their radios, how did it feel?

All of Afilia Saga, have a time slot in Chou A&G+
Before Puri Puri Princess.
Make sure, that on Sunday nights 7 .30 pm for about an hour, to enjoy it on Chou A&G+.

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess (2013/10/28 10:00 pm)

After two and a half months we've come back to this special project.
"Sunday Miracle Countdown Momochi"
We reported on the ranking of Berryz Kobo's songs that you'd start humming upon entering the bath.
We received letters from all you Otomomochi who had decided on their 1st to 3rd place choices,
We tallied the points as follows 1st place...3 points, 2nd place... 2 points, 3rd place... 1 point
And announced the results.

The results are as follows!

1st「Loving you Too much」
2nd「cha cha SING」
3rd「Momochi! Yurushite-nyan Taisou」
4th「Gag 100kai bun Aishite Kudasai」
5th「Maji Bomber!!」
6th「ROCK Erotic」
7th「Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi」
8th「Kokuhaku no Funsui Hiroba」
9th「Rival」
10th「Shining Power」

For such a loose theme, it was unexpectedly exciting.
There were people saying on Twitter "Setting aside the rankings, it would be fun to hear about stories behind the songs", but there were a lot of people looking forward to it!
Since this ranking was before this new song had gone on sale, the earnestly desired Yurushite-nyan Taisou entered the top 3, with 3 songs in the ranking from the CD, it was an interesting ranking.

From now on we'll be getting on with deciding themes for the ranking.
Please make sure to vote from now on too!

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess (2013/10/14 1:00 am)

Momoko-hime talked enthusiastically about
The miracle (!?)-like incident that happened during her Iwate event.
There were loud cheers of "Yurushite-nyan" "Otomomochi"
Even someone who burst into tears... Above all, good memories were made.

And the story of "Exposing Momoko-hime's behaviour in a store."
The 21 year-old knows the difficulty of
The collection spirit and goods gathering of young men... It was an impressive story.

The voice of the normal idol for the "Momochi ha Idol" corner has changed from this time.
I think it would be interesting to try listening and comparing the successive generations of the normal idol.
When we were recording the voice of the normal idol, Momoko-hime also gave some direction.

The changing to the 8 pm timeslot also became a hot word through hashtags.

Supported by passionate, passionate Otomomochi.
From now on, we'll be depending on your support.

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko Puri Puri Princess October 6th (234rd episode) Broadcast Postscript

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess (2013/10/07 1:00 am)

Since April 2012, the broadcast of Puri Puri Princess has been at "midnight Sunday", and from October 13th it will switch over to "8 pm Sunday." This broadcast marked the last late-night broadcast.

We were excited to receive the following topics in our letters from listeners section
・Fishing for carp using udon ・ Isn't "Zurukomi" a word that is known nationwide? ("Zurukomi" is a slang word used in Chiba, which means "to interrupt")
from Kagawa prefecture and Chiba prefecture respectively.
Also, regarding the question of what we should call Momoko-hime's "Oneesan mode" that appears during the listener call corner... we received several suggestions.
Among the several suggestions we received included
"Candies mode" "NeeNee mode" (I believe NeeNee is how her brother refers to her) "Angel's Mischief" "Queen of zero sex appeal" "Early-morning practice of sumo beginners"
Those were some of the ones mentioned, but the one that Momoko-hime selected in the end was unexpectedly "Early-morning practice of sumo beginners."

From now on, when she enters her Oneesan mode when contacting men below her age through the telephone in the "Moshi Moshi Momochi" corner, make sure to catch out her "Early morning practice of sumo beginnners!"

And, due to circumstances regarding the recording schedule we had a short time to talk about it, but we were finally able to talk about Momochizakura-san (sumo wrestler)
Momoko-hime definitely wants to see Momochizakura-san's gallant figure with her own eyes.
From several years ago, "Let's go to Kokugikan!" was often mentioned, but it never got further than the "Yes" in response.
Momochizakura-san, go fight! The programme will cheer for Momochizakura-san.

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko Puri Puri Princess September 29th (233rd episode) Broadcast Postscript

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess (2013/09/30 1:00 am)

For the first time in a while, we reported on "Momochi's First Experiences".
It was a story about... Going to perform at the "Yuzu" live.
While talking about that single theme, it became the record longest topic for this programme.
To tell you the truth, we discussed doing it in July,
but since Momoko-hime gave the following consideration
"I want to wait until the additional Yuzu-san tours end"
We kept it until September 29th.
The long awaited discussion, how was it?

Before we started recording, Momoko-hime said
"I think I might talk too much...".
After the talk
"I wonder if it turned out to be just what I normally talk with the fans..."

I think those who listened will understand,
The discussion that emerged
Was that the feeling of watching a performance is reflected in her own work.
"That was great" "That was cool" "I want to work hard"
Just getting to these unending comments was really wonderful

It would be good if someday, another day like this one,
where half of the 30 minute show covered a single topic, would come!

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko Puri Puri Princess September 15th (231st episode) Broadcast Postscript

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess (2013/09/16 1:00 am)

A lot of letters were read out.

  • Recent Papachi news! {Trans note: Papachi refers to Momochis father}
    • Papachi putting strawberry ice cream into melon soda

  • There seems to be a new gyaru terminology "Nyantsuku"... {Trans note: Based on the letter, Nyantsuku means that in front of men, you act cat-like or angrily (tsundere?)}
    • The (female) audience of Waratte Iitomo were kind! {Trans note: Momo mentioned in her show that she appeared in Waratte Iitomo asking for advice because she was "unpopular among women" but the response of the female audience members proved otherwise)

  • How successful has the campaign to have your juniors refer to you as "Momochi-sempai" been?
    • She was deeply moved when Juice=Juice used the expression "Morning Musume, Berryz Kobo that Momochi-senpai is in" in front of a large audience. However, in front of Momochi they still use "Tsugunaga-senpai"

  • At a handshake event, what would be a good topic to talk about?
    • She'd be happy with even a direct "Please work hard"

Despite crossing the 200 mark [for the letters from listeners segment], we are still welcoming letters from listeners.
Those who have just become fans, even those who are as first time listeners, Momoko-hime will respond to your messages.

Momochi Happy Word Kobo

  • "A woman who brings heavy rain" -> "A woman who will make sure that your water storage is always at the 100% mark"
  • "Leaves it for others to do" -> "Skilled at depending on others' kindness"
  • "My confession was rejected" -> "For the time being, I've submitted my entry"

These three things were mentioned.
The passage talking about being skilled at depending on other's kindness led to a talk on "Would you call this being good at depending on other's kindness?".
However, the sentence "leaves it for others to do" really is a phrase that matches Momoko-hime!

The Yurushite-nyan Saiban concerns advising on "This year is the autumn of oo" that you end up hearing every year!
This kind of advice will be requested every time when the seasons change each year!
Although I do sympathise with the interviewers!
I've heard of fights, conflicts with idols.

Alone in the studio, a figure spins out these words one after another!
Yes, there only is the one person in the studio. Just Momoko-hime and your letters.
If you were to give this a try, you would feel extremely lonely.
Within, with such high spirits, talking as if in conversation with someone!
Indeed, from now on, please listen while imagining that figure!

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko Puri Puri Princess September 1st (229th episode) Broadcast postscript

Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess (2013/09/02 1:00 am)

Today there were three letters for the "Futsuu no Otayori" (Letters from listeners).

  • "I'm unable to take pills", "Is Momochi able to take pills?"

Momoko-hime very proudly informed us that:
"Having graduated about three years ago" "The medicine I used to take was this jelly-like thing they used to sell, have you heard of it?"
If you check at a pharmacy, it'll be there! I wouldn't know though~
However, I think it's the first time in 4 years that the question "Are you able to take pills" has been asked. Excellent question.

  • "Is it true that for elementary and middle schools in Chiba Prefecture, instead of assigning classroom order number based on (Japanese) alphabetical order, they base it on birthdays instead?"
From this letter, Momoko-hime talked about things specific to Chiba Prefecture, as well as requesting listeners to "tell me things specific to each prefecture!"
Momoko-hime said that "When chatting with members, I notice some differences", but I've never seen anyone actually saying "Ah, that's something that's only done in your hometown."
Please send in any examples where you've noticed this!
In my case, in every elementary and middle school in the southern part of Saitama where I come from, elementary schools used birthday order, while middle schools used alphabetical order.
These kind of reports we would  gladly welcome.

  • "Your juniors from Juice=Juice made references about you during the closing act [of a recent concert], did they make sure to ask for Momochi's permission beforehand?"
This letter led to an enthusiastic discussion her memories with her juniors.
Naruchika, I wonder how it'll turn out... {Trans note: Naruchika is the title of the Berryz x J=J concert running at the time}

For "Momochi ha Aidol" (Momochi is an Idol), there were three pieces.

  • Situation: During the opening ceremony for a pro baseball tournament, you become nervous and end up making a wild pitch
Normal idol: "I got nervous despite having practised so much"
Tsugunaga Momoko: "The ball didn't want to leave Momochi's hand because Momochi's too cute"
-> Led to a discussion of Dan Mitsu's proclamation at the opening of the baseball season "Isn't that target ok?" Indeed, she would like to learn how to throw a knuckle ball from S/mileage's Takeuchi Akari.

  • Situation: When asked "Between Momochi and Morning Musume's Michishige Sayumi, whose cuteness shall prevail?"
Normal idol: "Since both of us are cute, we can't be compared"
Tsugunaga Momoko: "If it's between Yurushite-nyan and Usa-chan Peace, I'd value Yurushite-nyan more. Let's decide with janken."
-> She would never say the normal idol's "Since both of us are cute, we can't be compared", and such a accurate retort was included. Just what you'd expect.
  • Situation: When requested "Momochi always blogs in order to make event announcements, but I'd like her to write her impressions on these events"
Normal idol: "I've worked hard today, so I'll write my impressions"
Tsugunaga Momoko: "Momochi always faces forward and doesn't look back to the past. The things I'm interested in are all in the future"
-> A joke teasing her about her unchanging blog. Well, she talks about past events in Puri Puri.

Well, that was a lot of listener correspondence. Those who'd like try sending Momoko-hime a question, we'll be waiting.

Puri Puri Princess #220 (30/06/2013) - Summary

References: http://www.geocities.jp/dekopinnight/puri2_project2.html

Opening

The day of the broadcast, 30th June marked the 11th year anniversary of the H!P Kids. Momoko talked about entering her memories of her eleven years as well as thanking all the fans that supported her. It also marked Recommender Ktaro-san's birthday.
To those who had been with her throughout the eleven years, Momo wished that everyone would continue spending time together.
To those who had just become fans, well, they're late.
Well, even though she's become an idol for 11 years, she hopes that the listeners can continue suporting Momochi, Berryz Kobo, H!P Kids.

Title call

Jingle 1

"Tsunku or something came and it was good, thus the final day of June became Berikyuu's anniversary. Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess"
(Puri Puri Name: Fukumen X)

Moshi Moshi Momochi Desu

(Where Momo calls up listeners for a chat)

Just like Momochi, I'm currently in my fourth year of university. Ever since I hit twenty, I've been thinking about age and growing older. Despite being the same age, Momoko-hime is always perky, so I'd love to talk with Momoko-hime about age and staying energetic.
(Idol Kingdom Osaka Prefecture Puri Puri Name: Aritan)

The listener was in job hunting mode, and was expecting a call from a company, so Momo's call was a nice surprise. She complained that she was having a difficult time since her CV was going through the appeals process.
Since she had sufficient credits, she hadn't been to school for a while.
Her major was IT related, and typing is her strong point - compared to Momochi, who just uses one finger.
The discussion turned to Momo's credits, of which Momo wasn't too confident with.
Momo then asked if the listener was participating in any clubs - she was the bassist for the light music club.

She had also brought friends from her part-time job and converted them into Berryz fans, and they would be going to the Berryz Budoukan concert.
Origin story: she had started with MoMusu, as a Tsuji-chan fan. She became a Berryz fan after Tsuji graduated, especially since she was of the same age as the H!P Kids. The W & Berryz Kobo concert was also another point where she picked up on them.

The listener's favourite song was "Maji Good Chance Summer".
On the topic of what made Berryz different from other groups: Their performances are fun, and everyone is good at singing.
They ended with a suggestion that Momo sing for their light music club one day, and lead to the listener's favourite song:

-M1-

"Maji Good Chance Summer/Berryz Kobo"

Berryz Station

(Where Momo reports the latest Berryz news)
Berryz Station (BGM: Gag 100kai bun Aishite Kudasai / Berryz Kobo)

Announcement regarding Puri Puri Princess was made: An on-demand archive for the programme would be made through agqr.jp, with one episode costing 105 yen.

Jingle 2

"Momochi can use magic. Her magic fills everyone with energy for a week. Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Puri Princess" (Puri Puri Name: Okashira)

Other announcements

Momo reads out a letter received from the Idol Kingdom:

Time passes by so quickly doesn't it? We've only got half a year left to go. What feelings does Momoko-hime have regarding the first half of the year?
I'm in my fourth year of university and am currently job-hunting. To me, this past year has passed in the blink of an eye, and I can't remember anything.
However, I can recall the the 10 years of Berryz being performers and the Budoukan concert announcement.
There may be only half a year left, but take care of yourself, and good luck with work.
(Idol Kingdom Chiba Prefecture Puri Puri Name: Muro)

Momo agrees that the half year had passed quickly.
During New Years, Momo did the usual, as well as the annually scheduled concert on the 2nd of January.
There was also a Momochi-Tsuki Gathering, which was full of pink penlights. Momochi also made pink mochi.
There was also the time where she had to perform the Yurushite-nyan Taisou in a miniskirt on a very cold day. There wasn't anything significant in February.

March marked the Berryz 10 year celebration. Berryz were formed on the 3rd of March, while Momo's birthday was on the 6th. This year, the Berryz celebrations overshadowed Momo's birthday, so there wasn't a celebration for Momo.

The Thai concert was held just after that (March 9th), and during the encore a pink coloured cake was rolled out. Momo's joy was short lived as it turned out to be another cake to commemorate the 10 years. She was happy for Berryz of course, but in her heart, she was like "Ah, no cake for Momochi this year."

Stepping backstage after the performance, they were greeted with another cake! In this instance, it turned out that they were celebrating the event coordinator's birthday. So in the end, it became a joint celebration.
ル ’ー’リ Where did my birthday go?

(bell rings indicating time up for segment)

That said, on the day of the birthday itself, there was cake and all the Berryz members sang for Momo, so that was happy.

And, since segment was up, that ends Momo's half year summary. There was the Budoukan announcement, but that's it for now.

And to celebate the H!P Kids 11th year, Seishun Gekijou

M2 Seishun Gekijou/Berryz Kobo

Jingle 3

"If we could hear Momochi rap, it'd only be on this radio. Puri Puri Yeah, Puri Puri Yo. Berryz Kobo Tsugunaga Momoko no Puri Princess" (Puri Puri Name: Nari Nari)

Momochi! Yurushite-nyan Saiban 28

(Where Momochi judges whether a given situation  is forgiveable or not)

Situation: The person who asks "Are you asleep yet?" every five minutes when travelling in groups
(Idol Kingdom Kanagawa Prefecture Puri Puri Name: Sweet Purin)

Verdict: Unforgivable
Momo really hates this.
The first time someone says it, it's pretty sad for the person asking if they are greeted with silence.
So you respond with "I'm still awake", "Yeah, but I'm sleepy","Let's sleep", or the like.
When it's asked again 5 minutes later, then that's unforgivable.
Although these kind of things to happen and school field trips.

New Tsugunaga Constitution

Article 220
"No more talking once you've wished good night"
Momochi's still in a dream you know

Ending

(BGM: Omoide)

The week after will be the Tanabata festival, where you write down your wishes, and tie them to a bamboo tree.
Well, for the next week's broadcast, one of Momo's wishes would be coming true - a special guest would be appearing.
The oft-requested mangaka Tanemura Arina-sensei.
Momochi really likes her works and has most of them, and she follows the ones serialised in Ribon as well.

Looking back, the beginning of the first half of the year had a message from Card Captor Sakura's Kinomoto Sakura played on Puri Puri Princess.
While the second half will begin with a visit from Tanemura-sensei.
ル ’ー’リ This radio programme is awesome, isn't it?
